The 13 family representatives who qualified their families
from the three regional auditions opened episode four of the show. Each of the
family invited for the evaluation workshop came with a dance routine they feel
will qualify them for a spot in the Maltina Academy.
The Dance Director, Bimbo Obafunwa alongside a team of
choreographers, took the pains to evaluate each family’s dance routine and
advised them on how best to fine tune their routines. They were also informed
that only 10 spots were available in the Maltina Academy.
The families presented their routines in this order –
Clement, Ibrahim, Ibeatuche, Enweribe, Ebenezer, Dosa, Idundun, Tom, Ebute,
Ekado, Ikumonien, Asiyefia and Briggs. They also expressed their fears and
expectations about the Grand Auditions, with most of them expecting to make it
into the academy.
Overall, the Dance Director felt that the families that
qualified this year were better and more determined and that the Maltina Dance
All Season 7 will be more competitive.
The new host, Osas Ighodaro opened the show in a stylish and
unique way. She was introduced from backstage/dressing room as the new host for
the season. The 13 families invited for the evaluation workshop took to the
stage after the judges were introduced. This year, a new judge and an acclaimed
choreographer for the likes of Beyoncé, Will Smith and others; Jeffrey Page was
introduced. He joins the talented Janell Burgess and the versatile Muyiwa
Osinake.
Each family brought their own uniqueness and creativity to
the stage. They blended different genres of songs and dance styles into good
routines to fight for a spot into the Maltina Academy.
They performed in this order - the Ebute, Tom, Dosa, Ekado,
Ibrahim, Asiyefia, Ikumonien, Idundun, Ebenezer, Enweribe, Briggs, Clement and
Ibeatuche families. Due to the high competitive level and excellent dance
