The show will keep viewers amazed and inspired as talented dancing families showcase their moves in steps from Hip Hop, Jive, Gumboot, Pantomine, Wazobia and Salsa in the chance to become Nigeria's No.1 Dance Family.

An initiative of The Nations No.1 Malt Drink, Maltina, MDA as is mostly called has traveled across the country from Lagos to Benin, Enugu, Ibadan, Abuja and Port Harcourt, in search of dancers who represent the best in Nigeria with fun and excitement. The Maltina dance all team has spread their tentacles across the six geographical locations of the nation, searching for the best talent in dance, along with a supportive and equally good dance family.

The show is in Two parts : 1. Competition 2. Academy

At the competition, the best dancers are rewarded on the spot, following a very keenly contested competition across age bands.

On day 2, the aim of the competition is to select suitable family representatives that would lead their various family members into the maltina dance all academy.

Having been selected, they go through a number of fitness tests, 15 successful ones are invited along with their families to compete for a place in the academy.

In the academy, dancers go through some dance training from professional dance instructors. They then perform the dance style learnt and are graded by dance professionals as well.

5 families make it to the grand finale which is a one-hour show, transmitted live.

To participate, Nigerians of all ages can fill forms from this website, and can pick up/drop off forms at designated points. Forms will also be made available at the Screening centers to enable those who did not get to fill out forms previously do so.

The regional competition is open to all age categories, while only dancers within 18-30 age category qualify for the Reality/Academy.

Last season, the competition was the toughest it had ever been with seasoned dance professionals as judges - Muyiwa Osinaike, Michael Adegoke and Janell Burgess.

VIDEO: TALENT SHOW CASE

I wanted to share this video with you guys. It was performed at the Joshua-Ville’s talent show case.  I feel it’s a dramatic contemporary piece and it caught my attention. Choreography could have been better though, but I kinda liked it. Tell me what you think.

FADED

I remember how excited I was when I first saw that commercial. I felt street dance in Nigeria is finally being recognized. I remember the tough rehearsals that went down so my crew could make the competition. Its kind of disappointing how the publicity just faded. Nobody talks about it any more. I personally think street dance should be revived. Wanna hear what you guys think. #teamstreetdance.

WELCOME POST: - DANCE

This is officially the first post of the EAZY DAVIDSON’S DANCE DIARY that has been highly anticipated. This post marks the beginning of a new dawn as regards dance in Nigeria, Africa and the world as a whole.
Dance! What is dance: - The English dictionary explains dance as a series of movements and steps that are usually performed to music. Other people regard dance as the ability to move the body to the sound and rhythm of music. But as for me, I consider dance as the exhibition of rhythmic body movements as well as attitude used to describe a character. It can also be used to tell and interpret stories.

In the western world, this form of art has gained much ground and is no longer regarded as only a form of entertainment but also a source of income. In Africa today, dance has crossed the milestone of seeing it as a form of entertainment, as new styles of dances are being invented constantly, but as regards ‘paying the bills’, dance in Africa has not attained that kind of exposure. Dancers work so hard and receive little or no recognition.

Well, that is about to change. EAZY DAVIDSON CORPORATION presents a new concept with the aim establishing dance networking. This concept gives dancers in Nigeria and Africa an opportunity to merge and work with other dancers all over the world. This will help our dancers get the kind of exposure dancers in the western world enjoy.
             Dance is going corporate…………. Anticipate.
